Sex Workers of Winnipeg Action Coalition (SWWAC)
SPECIFIC RESOURCE PAGE: https://sexworkwinnipeg.com/for-sex-workers/resources-for-sex-workers/
“The goal of the Sex Workers of Winnipeg Action Coalition (SWWAC) is to make things safer for sex workers. Our mission is to promote the human and labour rights of sex workers. Our membership includes sex workers, activists, researchers, health care people, and other allies from Winnipeg. Our vision is to see sex work decriminalized and destigmatized, for everyone to have autonomy over the work they do and their working conditions, and that our group be a space where people learn, grow, and share. Our beliefs are that initiatives aimed at sex workers must be focused on harm reduction, evidence-based, and directed by sex workers themselves. Our media of choice are public and formal education, discussions, and art. SWWAC also supports national efforts by sex workers and their allies to work towards the decriminalization of sex work. We are a proud member of the Canadian Alliance for Sex Work Law Reform. We are a cat-loving, awesome bunch who first came together to fight against Bill C-36 in 2014. From 2014 to early-2017 we were known as the Winnipeg Working Group for Sex Workers’ Rights.”
Winnipeg’s Bad Date List
“A"bad date" is an encounter between a sex worker / anyone involved in the sex trade and someone who is violent / abusive in any way. It is also any incident of theft, refusal of payment, threats, rudeness, time wasting, no shows, harassment, aggressive behaviour, etc. A bad date is anything you would want to warn or let others sex workers know about so they can avoid them.”

“To look and search for information on the bad date list, you have to become a trusted member. Only people who are currently working in sex work / the sex trade / sex industry can become trusted members. To learn how to become a trusted member, click on the "log in" button and select "sign up".”

“Would you like to know about SWWAC’s work on the Bad Date List? We consulted with local sex workers, then wrote a report about how we might make a new local Bad Date List. Then we collaborated with many local sex workers and allies to make it happen. Here’s the report (click to read): Winnipeg Bad Date List Consultation”
Sex Worker’s Tax Toolkit (by PACE)
https://mailchi.mp/25944473cbd8/sex-workers-tax-toolkit
“PACE Society compiled this document after hosting our 2nd annual tax workshop on March 1, 2018. We hosted this event in response to the number of sex workers looking for support in this area but didn't feel comfortable asking due to criminalization and stigma around their work. We hope that you find this tax resource useful.”

Canadian Alliance for Sex Work Law Reform (CASWLR)
“The Canadian Alliance for Sex Work Law Reform is made of sex worker rights groups across Canada. Our objective is to create a unified and cohesive response to law reform, and to strengthening the capacity of our communities to engage with legislative processes that impact on our lives. Together we represent a diverse group of sex workers and allies that have come together around law reform: some of the groups provide front-line service provision to sex workers in their region, and others are grassroots advocacy organizations. The member groups of the Alliance operate differently in their approach and every day work with sex workers. We come together with a unified voice for sex work law reform.”
